About FWF

Hi, y'all.  My name is Kaylor and I am the owner of Fisherman's Wife Furniture and the voice behind the blog.  I am obsessed with the beach and anything coastal. My coffee addiction is out of control and I require a lot of sleep.  Going to the gym is a must and I am a healthy eater.  I love dogs, hanging out and traveling with my hubby, being outside, and a great pair of jeans.  I used to be a middle and high school math teacher but my hobby of rescuing furniture turned into a full time job and a blog so I work from home now.  Keeping up with the blog can be overwhelming when I have tons of furniture work and DIY projects going on but I try my best to keep up.

My husband is not a full time fisherman but that is his passion along with building boats and being on the water.  He is an engineer/project manager by day for an oil company.  We have two chocolate labs and love to travel when we have time.  I affectionately call him Blittle here on the blog and he is the grunt labor, sounding board, gopher boy and sometimes photographer.  Somehow he puts up with my creative, sometimes out of the box ideas and has only doubted me a few times. :)

We bought a waterfront home outside of Galveston, TX in June of 2013 and are currently updating it one project at a time.  The blog is filled with DIY home improvement tutorials, DIY furniture projects, design inspirations, before & afters, plus much more.

We love boats and fishing so much we had pictures taken on his first home made boat on our wedding day.  :)
